10 florence instagram users to follow

This one goes out to all my long-distance lovers out there! The ones who dream of Florence but only have memories to keep them warm at night. We find Instagram to be the best way to keep our love affair alive. Ogling over others’ Florence posts makes us feel almost right at home. Here are 10 of our favorite Florence instagrammers (in no particular order) to start stalking subito. Happy #FollowFriday!

1. Tiana Kai | @tianapix

tianapix on instagramtianapix on instagram Tiana hands down gets our vote for best overall snapshot of Florence. Lush landscapes are punctuated with a healthy dose of Fiats and the most adorable dog you’ll ever see. If you like looking at colorful Italian locales, Tiana is your girl.

2. L’ arte sa nuotare | @lartesanuotare

lartesanuotare on instagramlartesanuotare on instagram The art sure does know how to swim. This mystery street artist has turned many of our dearest art friends blue, depicting them all in underwater scenes. They pop up around Florence, so keep your eyes peeled for this unexpected repurposing of old greats. Or, if you’re not in Florence, you’ve got the artist’s feed to keep you updated on their cheeky whereabouts.

3. Not My Nonni | @notmynonni

notmynonni on instagramnotmynonni on instagram The Not My Nonni account is Italy wide, but it has a robust amount of Florentine elders constantly on the feed. Whenever I’m feeling down, nothing cheers me up like a look at (who I wish were my) nonni enjoying la dolce vita in Florence.

4. Emiko Davies | @emikodavies

emikodavies on instagramemikodavies on instagram Emiko Davies most likely needs no introduction. The Food52 blogger, who has been featured in the Huffington Post, Gourmet and Kinfolk for her cooking talents, is based in Florence. As a result, her rustic-Tuscan shots of culinary creations are drop-dead gorgeous.

5. Alexandra Korey | @arttrav

We’re so thankful one of our favorite art historians has an incredible knack for social media. Art lovers, make sure you follow Arttrav’s feed. Alexandra approaches each shot with a journalist’s eye, able to tell a full story with a single shot.

6. Select Study Abroad (Kellin) | @selectflorence

selectflorence on instagramselectflorence on instagram

When we say Kellin’s photos are what our Florentine dreams are made of, we mean it. Her hazy, detail-oriented shots show a side of the city you can only know if you’ve lived there. She even makes the rainy days look good!

7. Birgitte Brøndsted | @birgittebrondsted

birgittebrondsted on instagrambirgittebrondsted on instagram Birgitte hails from Denmark but has made Florence her home. As you might be able to guess from her unique perspectives, she’s a professional photographer. She even does portrait sessions for clients in Florence, but you can glimpse her daily shots on Instagram for free!

8. Valentina Dainelli | @toomuchtuscany

toomuchtuscany on instagramtoomuchtuscany on instagram Valentina’s eye for the countryside surrounding Florence is definitely worth a peek. She’s based in Mugello, which is in the Florentine province, so we say it still counts. Follow her for impressive naturescapes and rustic charm.

6. Costanza Nunù Cocò | @viry

viry on instagramScreen Shot 2014-05-15 at 12.51.13 PM We’ve never met Costanza, but man, she seems like a lot of fun! Follow her (and her friends) as they enjoy all parts of the city and, often, other spots in Italy.

 10. The Florentine | @theflorentine

Screen Shot 2014-05-15 at 7.54.10 AMScreen Shot 2014-05-15 at 7.55.02 AM Last but certainly not least, make sure to follow The Florentine. From the city’s big events to behind-the-scenes stories, Florence’s English newspaper has the access and knows the people to get the best shots.
